Switchover stage headed for rethink PDF Print E-mail
Digital UK is considering scrapping the first stage of switchover which involves turning off BBC Two a month prior to full switch off.

The warning move was intended to give the public in each region time to test their digital equipment but apparently caused confusion during the Copeland switchover  in October 2007.

A Digital UK report on the Copeland switch says it will now be reducing the four week period to 14 days in those areas covered by the Selkirk, Beacon Hill and Stockland Hill transmitters, and is considering scrapping it altogether in areas where there is high DTT coverage.

The report found that most Copeland residents were pleased to be able to receive additional channels although a minority were disappointed not to able to receive all of those available includind Five US, UK History, and Dave.
